Many-flowered Matt-rush (Lomandra multiflora subsp. multiflora) along track into Cann River Campground (White Mountains National Park (Burra Range), Queensland, Australia. Photographed on 20 April 2016.

DNA might throw more light on these plants that have thicker, glaucous leaves and which Domin described from the area as Xerotes savannorum . (Terry Macfarlane, pers. comm.)

Male Many-flowered Matt-rush that has lost its flowers (Lomandra multiflora subsp. multiflora) along track into Cann River Campground (White Mountains National Park (Burra Range), Queensland, Australia. Photographed on 20 April 2016.

Terry Macfarlane from the WA Herbarium, pers. comm. "It does match what I recall of the glaucous and rather thick leaved plant that was described as Xerotes savannorum by Domin, from "near Pentland". I put, or left, it under L. multiflora subsp. multiflora in Fl. Aust. There was litle else to march it, but since then I have seen plants of multiflora in the Tambo area which resemble it somewhat. I am not sure if any different treatment could be sustained, but a project starting soon might throw light on the subject."
