I can't recall details of this pic, but the moth sure appears airborne and feeding like a hummingbird.
Found floating dead in the water being thrashed around by newts that eventually gave up on trying to eat it. Possibly a failed molt.
In Lyon's brook downstream from the Ruggles Pond dam perhaps 100-150'? A small but swift brook, kick-net collected, in a calmer part of the stream adjacent to the bank, sandy-rocky substrate.
