Small (~1cm long) spider found in pitfall trap installed in sandhill. Another visually very similar but smaller one found in another pitfall site about 1km away.
Mature male, deceased, photographed sitting on an A4 piece of paper. Had been sprayed with insecticide by a resident after walking into their house during a summer thunderstorm.
Couldn't get better pics but will try again tonight.
Waiting for ethanol and specimen vials so I can send it off for genetic analysis.
A myg! I am so very bad at identifying them though. My skills are limited to "tarantula or not tarantula" :P
Image sent to me by my friend Andy Klotz and photo is uploaded with his permission. I suggested to do that for him, as I could not see many records of this species on iNat.
