Osceola National Forest (Big Gum Swamp Wilderness), Columbia County, FL
we saw this elsewhere, not far away, forming the same sporophytes. But feel free to correct the ID. In a very large open bog.
Species is a guess by the algorithm, so please give feedback. Apologies for imperfect focus. Sun too bright to see the screen!

Fire road in savanna. Branch leaf 2.7 x 1.1mm, stem leaf 2.0 x 0.9mm.
I think this is already fairly identifiable but I'm gonna try for my first sphagnum micro photos today.
I'm bad at my wetland types if it's not a simple bog or marsh. Some sort of treed bog situation, very peaty and puddly.
This observation, along with others, was made within the context of a two days hiking tour in Parque Internacional La Amistad, during a round trip starting at Estación Biológica Altamira up to the Valle del Silencio refuge. This particular observation is from El Jardín Natural, a bog on the mountains, and was pointed out by our guide Elio Altamirano C., who mentioned how all life stages of the Sphagnum were present in this place (second photograph), noticeable by the shifts in color.
