As I was walking in Eaton Canyon, I could see a red shouldered perched regally atop what may have been a century plant. It flew out of sight right after I saw it. There in a few minutes, what I’m assuming was the same one landed on the lower part of the plant blocked partially by a branch and flowers.

This bird was walking over the concrete. He was about 3 feet tall and had a long neck and a small beak. He was mostly grey.
