First Time using INaturalist
Hello all!
Today we used the INaturalist app for the first time! INaturalist is an app that is used to identify organisms and share your findings for verification. It is an effortless way to find new organisms. Today's objective was to get situated with using INaturalist, so we walked around and took pictures of various species around campus. Once we took pictures, the app was able to give a prediction of what the organism could be but just for verification, we shared it with an online community to verify our prediction (a process that might take a couple of days). When the organisms are verified, I can add them to my lab write-up and provide a detailed taxonomy of the identified species alongside information on the distribution and natural historical information of each species.
