Nature Walk 3: Plants

For this nature walk, a friend and I went further into the woods than we had been before to get some photos of different plants. It was a very nice fall weather type day. It was sunny and just cool enough for long sleeves but not quite cold enough for a jacket. During our walk we noticed how the woods at Edmands park have changed so much since our first nature walk which didn't seem so long ago. It looks like fall outside again! I was able to capture a picture of moss, which would fall under the bryophyta category of nonvasular plants we learned about in class. I also took pictures of what iNaturalist is pretty sure is a flowering aster and pokeweed berries which I now know are angiosperms. There either wasn't very many in this particular area, or I'm still getting used to identifying the differences between the categories of plants, because I found it difficult to find what I knew immediately to be a gymnosperm or polypodiosida. On a side note I also found this odd jelly like organism on a branch that I thought was interesting.
