Hello everyone! This is the second Observations of the Week post of the Biodiversity of South India Project! This week, we have two observations in second place!
Here they are in order:

  1. A Rhene sp. supposedly feeding on an Ornamental Tree Trunk Spider (Herennia multipuncta) from Bengaluru, Karnataka by @vaidyar
A very interesting observation, this observation received 9 votes on the project's WhatsApp group, the highest number!

  2. A Whitespotted Whipray (Maculabatis gerrardi) from Tamil Nadu by @moovendankings
This endangered animal belongs to the same subclass as the Sharks, since they are quite closely related to sharks! This observation received 2 votes on the project's WhatsApp group.
Fun Fact: Sharks and Rays don't have bones! They are made up of only cartilage!

  3. A Winged Gliding Frog (Rhacophorus lateralis) from Kerala by @albinayur07
This endangered and endemic frog is found only in India, Western Ghats to be specific, received 2 votes on the project's WhatsApp group.
