Biodiversity of Australia, 26 January

Congratulations on the Australia Day!

This umbrella project includes observations from the Australian Islands and external territories (Territory of Ashmore and Cartier Islands, the Coral Sea Islands Territory, and Norfolk Island). These observations are divided into two projects: Biodiversity of largest Australian islands and Biodiversity of Australian external territories in Oceania.

Also I want to thank the observers who have helped to promote natural science of Australia. Here are the top-10 of the best observers in two projects:

Thanks for this info. I wonder why this obs (and perhaps others) haven't been captured by the project?

I'd also just mention that some other fairly significant islands (in terms of their biodiversity) are not captured by either project - e.g. Lord Howe Island and islands in the Torres Straits - Thursday, Little Tuesday, Horn, Boigu and Sabai are ones that I have been to and have added obs to iNat.

Thank you for this comment, these islands are now added to the project.

As I understand it, this observation is present in the project: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=any&project_id=biodiversity-of-largest-australian-islands&taxon_id=893990&verifiable=any

Thank you for the reply. When I look at the observation, under "Projects" no project is mentioned but
it does appear in the Project. I'm not sure why that occurs.

@nyoni-pete In order for the project to be displayed under observation you need to become its member.

Wow, I didn't even know this was a thing. Nice to see Norfolk Island on the map. Thank you.
