There is no way to thank you!

Hi everyone. There is no way to thank all of you properly, but THANK YOU for keeping our BioBlitz going through your time and dedication.

Typically, many of us from the Agency participate in this event; just in the last 10 days however, three of our team members have each experienced a death in their family and it has completely changed our operation as our small team has covered for each of us while we handle our individual family's needs to include travel and time off.

It was WONDERFUL to log-in today and see the number of observations as of this afternoon (1,259) which completely eclipses last year's 877 observations. We are flabbergasted and really proud and thankful to all of you. With one day left, we hope you all finish strong and visit any of the 11 parks in the Blitz that you haven't been to yet.

I will be on travel tomorrow--the last day of the BioBlitz--for a funeral, but wanted to say THANK YOU! You can watch the results of other BioBlitz events by visiting this link: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/parks-for-pollinators-2022

Our BioBlitz, at least it was last year, was included in the Northeast Region. It could be in the Mid-Atlantic this year; we haven't determined that yet. We could be in the running for a Scott's Miracle Grow Prize Package which will help us build our new Pollinator Garden at Whitehall Road Regional Park.

THANK YOU!

10 days to go!

Everyone, thank you for your observations so far this month! September has 10 days to go, so we hope to finish strong with observations across the various project sites.

We are seeing some new observations that we did not see in year one or two, so we're excited that we'll have new data this year!

Please continue the great work and let's finish the BioBlitz with some great observations and strong numbers, weather permitting of course!

Thank you!

September is off and running!!

Hi everyone. The 2022 BioBlitz project has started. I (islandella) have been on vacation, but look forward to catching some observations as soon as I am back in town.

Thank you for joining the 'Blitz this year! We look forward to getting year #3 data for comparison purposes, especially for the parks that have changed mowing patterns and installed pollinator areas. This year, more than ever, it's important to locate and document any Monarch Butterflies that you can, to include not only the butterflies, but the plants on which you find them.

We look forward to seeing your observations in our project locations!!

Thank you!!

We need your help, pollinator supporters, naturalists, and friends of the Monarchs!

Our third Parks For Pollinators BioBlitz is just a few weeks away! If you haven't marked your calendar, please note the whole month of September serves as the BioBlitz period.

This is a great opportunity to get the whole family outdoors to discover your local parks and help us to inventory our pollinators!

Watch for more info. to be posted soon!

Three Weeks and Counting!

Hi everyone. We're very happy to be participating in our third Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz challenge this year. It is especially important this year that our volunteers / participants join us is searching for those Monarch Butterflies as the data for their observations and habitat are crucial at this point since they are now endangered! (Read more here: https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/21/world/monarch-butterfly-endangered-scn/index.html)

The observations our volunteers make help us to evaluate park habitat, especially those parks that have had pollinator habitat created through either no- or low-mow areas, special garden areas such as the Snetsinger Butterfly Garden, planted stormwater basins adjacent to parks, and more!

Won't you consider helping us during the month of September, using your smart phone and the iNaturalist app?

More to come soon...!
