Its natural habitats are temperate forests, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, arable land, pastureland, rural gardens, water storage areas, ponds, open excavations, irrigated land, and canals and ditches.
