November EcoQuest Challenge

Where I failed in October I had some success in November! Yay.

I took a much more disciplined approach by planning out which days I would go out to look for the Groundsel Trees. I used the guide more closely and googled some information on the tree. My first observation failed as I overlooked that the Groundsel Tree is bigger than I expected and I observed the wrong thing (although I confidently and unknowingly named it a Groundsel Tree).

Then, I started using the browser version of iNaturalist to be able to better find other observers' observations. Where did they find the Groundsel Tree? By using the map online, I planned out my walks to try to go toward those areas. To still enjoy the challenge of it and feel a sense of accomplishment if I found the tree, I only highlighted the area in the parks where they were seen- not the exact location.

All in all, I could not find five observations but came close! Luckily the funny pictures of squirrels and pigeons do a great job in filling up the needed observations.
