I am a systematic botanist and the Herbarium Curator of the Gary A Fewless Herbarium at University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, and am interested in the natural plant communities of the Great Lakes Region, particularly ferns (especially Cystopteris!), bryophytes sensu lato (especially Sphagnum moss!), lycophytes, oaks, violets, and Ranunculaceae. My research is mostly on polyploidy and hybridization.

Meanwhile I'm trying to learn ALL THE PLANTS.

I've previously studied the Western North American Caltha (C. biflora, C. chionophila, and C. leptosepala), and am currently working on the cytogeography and systematics of the fern genus Pentagramma.
