I'm an avid birder, a big salamander guy, insect fanatic, and an amateur photographer. That being said, I love all other aspects of the natural world!
I currently live in Watauga County, in the mountains of North Carolina, and am attending my second year at App State as an Ecology, Evolution, and Enviromental Science major.
I am interested in almost everything alive but have an especially strong interest/some solid expertise in carnivorous plants (especially Drosera and Sarracenia), pines, fish, birds, insects (especially odes, tiger beetles, and fireflies) and herps (with a strong focus on salamanders). I also love searching for poorly understood species and species that haven't been recorded in a region or haven't been documented in an area for very long time.
I'm currently working on Plethodon dietary niche overlap for my undergrad research. I've also been dedicating a lot of time to documenting Photuris in the southeast (and made some interesting discoveries through that!) and working on other salamander related projects.
Please feel free to tag me on any observations, especially concerning any North American birds, eastern North American salamanders, carnivorous plants, southeastern Odonates, and anything observed in the NC mountains. Message me if you really want to reach me, as sometimes I don't catch stuff because I'm busy. Also let me know if you think I have made a mistake on any ID's, I'd be happy to take a look at it again and correct it!
