Greetings Fellow Naturalists!
I grew up on the rocky coast of New England and am greatly enamored of every creature that swims through, flies over or crawls on the bottom of the Gulf of Maine. As soon as I could walk, my Dad took me birding, fishing and shell collecting on our local beaches in Lynn, Massachusetts. Little did I know that these activities would turn into life-long passions. I now make my home on three acres in southern New Hampshire. With the onset of the pandemic, I became inwardly focused on the creatures living in the woods behind my house. There is so much to learn and discover right in my backyard! I am active with the Massachusetts Marine Educators and serve as the outreach coordinator for the Friends of Lynn and Nahant Beach. Lately, I have started volunteering with Trustees of the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA. I contribute to the Bugguide and Butterfly and Moths of North America websites. If you need a mollusk specimen from the North Atlantic, please feel free to drop me a line. I’d love to help. In the meantime, I’ll see you in the field! All the best, T.J. Cullinane
