FRIENDLY RIVALRIES WITH LEXINGTON-FAYETTE COUNTY AND FRANKFORT-FRANKLIN COUNTY IN 2023!

DID YOU KNOW THAT LOUISVILLE-JEFFERSON COUNTY WILL BE IN A FRIENDLY RIVALRY WITH LEXINGTON AND FRANKFORT DURING THE CITY NATURE CHALLENGE BIOBLITZ THIS YEAR?

Last year, we competed with Lexington and with Madison County for being leaders in number of species observations, number of species and number of participants during the 4-days of iNaturalist City Nature Challenge Bioblitz. You can see how well Louisville did by going to this Leaderboard: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/kentucky-city-nature-challenge-2022-cities

This year, we welcome Frankfort to the iNaturalist City Nature Challenge! Hurray! YOU CAN SEE IN REAL TIME how well Louisville is doing compared to Lexington and Frankfort by joining the 2023 KENTUCKY CITY NATURE CHALLENGE (it's called an Umbrella Project in iNaturalist) and checking the Leaderboard for this project during the Bioblitz from April 28 to May 1, and afterwards for a week as species are confirmed to Research Grade.

Here is where to go to join. I hope you do and have fun seeing how well we are doing!

Only 9 days to go until the Bioblitz begins!
Hope you are getting excited!
