In a semi-urban area. A person living in the area told me he saw it yesterday for the first time. The animal had killed a chicken from that person and was eating it.

First observed at ~7:30am from Harling Point with spotting scope as it came barreling in off the Victoria waterfront (from ~250-300m away). As it came closer I realized it was actually a bat! By that time it had almost made it to land right in front of me. Camera was ready by the time it eventually made it.
