Does anyone know what this spp of sponge is? Seen on sandy bottom 3 to 4m depth

Multiple somethings on underside and fins of shark. Water approx 30m deep at approx 19.5 degrees.

Snorkeling beyong the surf.

A friend came across it on petone beach

Found on sea grass leaves occupying a vacant worm tube.

Not sure of this particular seaweed species found on the coastline of Kaikoura.

at low tide was exposed to air

accidental bycatch in a deep-sea trap that was placed for research at 350m.
specimen was nearly dead when the trap was brought in.
