The broad leafed sedge is common in Mingo within the rich forested hillslopes, especially along the tributaries of Mingo Creek. Not the greatest photos but will do. This is one of the few sedge members of the 'big leaf sedges' in section Careyanae. Look for the greenish to green-white white leaf based and blades over 12 mm wide on sterile shoots. If the leaf bases are red or purple you have a different species (C. careyana or C. plantaginea)
