Field Notes - Sitting on top of the compost under the lid. Its been very wet - we think they normally live down in holes in the ground but perhaps the rain has brought him/her out? Very slow to move but prepared to stand his/her ground.
Trapdoor spider burrow in the open verge beside an asphalt path
I assume this is a spider home, found under a small log. The dead spider above the hole could be the remains of a meal?
