An unexpected surprise.
On a rockface.
Also I think two observations which are currently P. leuca are actually Alloiodoris lanuginata. These being:
35753280
67414587
~1.5cm long
~2m depth
Depth 2m.The large one ~30mm and had been in the same location the previous day but rotated 180 deg. The smaller ones are 2mm and 4mm also on blue sponge ~ 1.5m from the adult. Interestingly, note the groupings by size (age?).
Updated 2021/05/05: the adult now gone from location on blue sponge, however approx 200mm from adult there were ~ 80 juveniles, 25 in the last photo (just added 5/5/21), size < 1.5mm with a couple of larger animals
Sighting and photos (c) fiona2.
Field Notes - Pyura stolinifera (cunjevoi) or sea squirt
5 to 10 cm
Approx 2cm long
Depth: 3m
found around mooring rope with lots of hydroids and weed
4 of about 10 different individuals spotted washed up. I believe that all but one spotted (uploaded separately) are of the same species.
All about 12cm in length
Images 1&2 are of one specimen, 3&4 a different one, pic 5 is another individual and 6&7 picture another.
