Privately owned prairie easement in the midst of Kettle Moraine Southern Unit
West side of Santa Fe, Santa Fe Co., New Mexico, USA.
A small patch of this invasive weed was growing on a roadside.
Does anyone know the plant species that this cabbage white is visiting? It reminds me of a chicory (Cichorium). (I've added the butterfly as a separate observation).
These insects were seen crawling all over the green onions that were growing in my backyard and can be seen crowding in clumps in certain areas.
Host: California Sagebrush (Artemisia californica).
I first consulted @glmory's amazing https://www.inaturalist.org/posts/13044-aphids-of-southern-california, which lead me to https://aphidtrek.org. I searched both databases for the host plant, and found three hits at Aphidtrek.

https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/1029735-Pleotrichophorus-decampus
and
https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/454570-Obtusicauda.
The last one looks most like the aphids on these young Sagebrushes. Aphidtrek did not ID any species in the genus.
Host: Tribe Brassiceae
