Collared Pratincoles (Glareola pratincola) on the Chobe River, Chobe National Park, Botswana.
We weren't entirely sure about this one, as it seemed somewhat out of range according to our field guide at the time. Barring (rather than streaking) on breast would seem to indicate an adult. Undertail pattern looked off to us, but the light eyes and yellow legs and gray cere also appeared to be diagnostic. 2nd photo is the same as the first except lightened a bit to see further detail on the head. Other thoughts welcomed, IF you have another ID please let me know why. Thank you.
