According to wikipedia, Sericornis maculatus was recently reclassified as a separate species, but inaturalist don't seem to have accepted this yet.

Field Notes - several on the grass. about 10-15 cm.
These birds are permanent residents around our place. However unlike most of the other small birds like wrens and firetails, they appear to be quite solitary.
32 in flock. Some landed to feed on exotic pine cones.
