I reported the flag on the Plover's leg and heard from a researcher with the banding program in Canada: "Black flag 5E was banded as a chick in July 2018 at Cavendish Sandspit, Prince Edward Island National Park. He was seen back in PEI last summer but not with a nest (they often don’t breed as yearlings)."

First seen by John Rice-Cameron this bird was seen several more times on September 15th. This is apparently the 6th record for Rockingham County and the first since 2000. Lark Sparrow sightings are rare throughout the mountains and valleys region of Virginia.

On the afternoon of the 20th, I had seen about 300 terns an hour passing Kill Devil Hills out from the beach, but I they were far enough out that I couldn't tell species.The day this observation was made there were hundreds of Sandwich Terns, possibly 1,000 along with a hundred or so Royal Terns gathered on the south side of Oregon Inlet.
