Looks like a jumping spider, but not sure it could jump far. It was on Asian greens in the garden. Main herbivore seems to be katydids. Found it while harvesting greens. Put it on an oregano.
In our yard. Bought from Tohono Chul. Non-irrigated. Received 2.6 inches 5 days earlier.
It backed into a chain fruit cholla, and a joint was embedded in its rump for several minutes. It was dislodged when the javelina jumped and bucked a few times. Male, evidenced by a tuft of hair at the penis sheath. Not visible in photos though.
