Form: Small shrub, out in the open with lots of sunlight.
Leaves: twice even-pinnately compound, greenish-yellow colored.
Twigs: have two sharp spines that protrude from nodes
Head was missing. Found during first preseason survey.

These are all the same tick. Put it in ethanol to stop it, but that did lead to a glare.
If a tick expert could ID Madison's tick from the same location, that would be great. Removed around 16 of them from myself and one of my dogs. They are presumably the same species.

I wrote Black-capped Chickadee on the salvage tag but should’ve been a Carolina Chickadee? Left in ziplock bag for pictures because it had tiny maggots all over it.

Stunned on city sidewalk, standing but not moving, eyes closed at the time of first observation, then open but still standing in one place. Gentle cover with cloth and relocated to a safe place near woods where it flew into the woods.
