Has a black and gray colored body. Has orange on the back of the beak and white on the tip of the beak. Tip of beak is hooked. Probably catches fish. Stays perched on high pole and usually flies around saltwater. Has black feet and feet are webbed like a duck.
Seen diving in shallow water near a wharf.
I drew 2 of them (as one had left by the time I had started drawing).
I heard these Tundra Swans coming over the hill, but it took me a moment to realize that what I was hearing was somewhat unusual, at least in my book. I had never seen migrating Swans before! When I zoomed in on a photo I quickly took, I could make out the all black bills. Clearly no orange. What would they doing here so late in mid-December? They were flying SSE. I make them out to be about fifty in number.
Taken from bird feeder on dorm window.
