20’c mostly sunny breezy This was one of 21 swallowtails seen congregating, and appeared to possibly be two tailed with the rest being tiger and pale?
Pair of swallowtails. Didn’t land. 29C and very smoky today.

I was thinking anise because of black shoulder patches (first pic) and black marking on underwing (second pic), relatively pale yellow, and body appears mostly black (second pic).
Flew by as I was being in the backyard, bumped into the fence and landed back on sidewalk. By the time I grabbed my camera I’d lost track of it so pics are quite poor quality as it flew up and through a bush at the back of the yard and away.
Cone scales thin, pale, and jagged. Pretty sure the cones came from the photographed tree. In the last photo, tallest tree in the centre
