Dominion Power and NOVAparks continue to destroy the jewelweed and other flowers and plants along the 45-mile long W&OD trail that the hummingbirds and other birds need to survive the migration but it leaves this super invasive Japanese knot weed. Who's the brains behind this operation ? Every year they destroy more and more and more, which makes it more welcoming for mile a weed and other invasive plants. And they're cutting down a lot of stuff that does not threaten powerlines in the least. At the very least they could've waited until the winter to do the cutting. They are going to starve the birds.
I broke off the leaves (but did not pull up). This is the only place on the lake trail I've seen it growing.
