This is a picture of a Ellychnia corrusca on the South Tract of the Patuxent Research Refuge near Laurel, Maryland.
Several of these insects were under loose bark on the trunk of a small sycamore tree at the edge of the wetland area. Most of them appear to be molting.
This is an update for the 06 April, 2024 entry. The lower individual that was a larva at that time is now a pupa as are all the others.
