This is one of the rare records of a Mew Gull in Texas. This bird was present between 10 December 1990 and 7 January 1991 and represented the 3rd Texas record of the species. The record is published in various bird journals and is in the files of the Texas Bird Records Committee.

Description

A roughly cardinal-sized (I think possibly juvenile by its behavior) bird sitting beside our hummingbird feeder. It was mousy brown with a much lighter belly, and a sort of ruddy brown section right at the corners of its beak. Possibly a pewee?
