I taught plant biology at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for 30 years. My interests range from local flora to mosses and fungi. I'm coauthor of Common Mosses of the Northeast and Appalachians, a field guide to help amateur naturalists learn to recognize about 200 common species with just a hand lens and spray bottle.
