I live in Glassell Park, a hillside area of northeast Los Angeles, and I want to publicly document the variety of species found here, before the last remaining open spaces in my neighborhood are developed. I hope that this proof of the number of species and diversity in my hillside area will give more weight to our argument that the natural area should be protected from new development.

I have a B.S. in Geology, from Cal State LA, and I have volunteered and worked at Eaton Canyon Nature Center (in the 1980's before the old building burned down), and natural history museums for several years.
