My interests are broadly on the whole spectrum of ecological interactions between plants and fungi. Currently I am a Ph.D. student at UC Merced, where I am studying endophytes in the leaves of a California endemic tree, one that is able to withstand extremely hot temperatures and dry conditions: the Blue Oak tree (Quercus douglasii). Another project I am working on, which is more of a passion side-project, is documenting fungal biodiversity in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. I also currently teach genetics at UC Merced.
