I am just a casual amateur birdwatcher. We have a fountain in our backyard in Newport Beach, California that attracts hummingbirds, sparrows, goldfinches, doves and the occasional oriole, tanager or other colorful specie passing through. Once in a while a red tail hawk will make a pass through the yard to swoop down on a dove.

We also enjoy seeing a rufous-sided towhee hopping along the ground from time to time.

We have a nest of black phoebes on the front porch.
