I am a botanist especially interested in rare plant species of California, though I'm also interested in fungi, insects, reptiles and amphibians. I love going to under-explored places and hiking to hard to get to areas in search of rare or undescribed species. Especially interested in the flora of Death Valley and Lassen National Park. I'm also a long distance backpacker, having thru hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2012, Pacific Crest Trail in 2014, Arizona Trail in 2015, most of the Colorado Trail and the San Diego Trans-County Trail in 2016, The Continental Divide Trail in 2017, The Lowest to Highest Route in 2018 and the Pacific Crest Trail again in 2019 and 500 miles on the Great Basin Trail in 2021. 12,000+ miles! On these hikes I'm always looking for rare or unusual plants and other species to document. Some of my favorite plants to look for are Diplacus, Erythranthe, Carex, Silene, Claytonia, Eriogonum, Chaenactis, ferns and many many more!

Looking for work with native plants, especially surveys for rare and endangered species.
