I am a researcher in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at NC State University. I'm also an associate of the Duke University Biology Department and the Harvard University Herbaria. I am a lichenologist by training (PhD 1997 Duke University) but I'm also pretty good with non-lichen fungi; bryophytes; and vascular plants. I'm the founder of western Massachusetts' "Berkshire BioBlitz" (now in its 1rth year) and lead organizer for 2017's "SIPS BioBlitz" near Ithaca, NY.
