I am a retired botanist, formerly Curator of the Herbarium (RSA-POM) at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden (now California Botanic Garden) in Claremont, California, and am a native of Southern California. I have a longstanding interest in the vascular flora of the Transverse and Peninsular ranges and the Mojave a desert, especially the Death Valley region. I am interested in the genera Allium and Ceanothus and the family Brassicaceae generally, and am particularly fascinated by the annual components of our flora, especially the most diminutive and cryptic species (aka dinkophytes).
