Bobcats can weigh up to 30 pounds and most are elusive. Aggressive behavior by bobcats toward humans is rare, the CDFW said.

Bobcats are a common species found throughout California. They also play a role in controlling prey populations, which is vital to maintaining a healthy ecosystem function, the CDFW said.
