How will you celebrate Earth Day today? I'll be preparing for a Google Hangout this evening to talk with some awesome people about the Great Nature Project and upcoming global snapshot of biodiversity.
We'll talk to Steve Boyes about his upcoming expedition down the Okavango River in Africa, urban explorer Juan Martinez, and educator Rona Zollinger. My colleague Julie Brown will be the host.
I hope you can join us tonight at 8 pm ET (that's GMT-4:00) for the Google Hangout. If you miss it, you'll be able to watch it later on our YouTube channel.

I'll be celebrating the Earth day with a nature hike along Michigan lake to classify all the diffrent species of birds of the area.
Happy Earth Day ! Everybody.
That sounds lovely! I look forward to seeing your observations!
Well, my nature hike became amazing, it was a cold day and believe or not, with some soft snow. The bird activity was amazing, lots of Northern Cardinals (Male and females), lots of Canada goose, Brewer’s Black birds, two different species of Gulls, but the pic of my day was the Great Horned Owl (Male) that I believe was in the area just for hunting.
Great, agustinzuniga! Now you just have to get those great observations online!
I also be leading a Natural History and bird-watching expedition in Costa Rica and Panama from June 20th to July 2nd. My idea is to cover the Tropical Rain Forest, Tropical humid and evergreen forest, same as well the tropical dry, Premontane and Alpine Forest.
