Fall Butterfly Counts / Connie Nagele

I'm excited to announce that I have added (2) new locations for the Fall Butterfly Count line up.

Butterfly counts are a way to monitor butterfly populations, raise public awareness and spend some time with other butterfly enthusiast. Learn about local parks and nature areas.

Butterfly counts are a good way to gauge the health of our gardens and our local environment for pollinators to ensure sustainable food sourcing in our area. The data collected at our counts is submitted for scientific research through several databases and tracked year over year.

You can join as many counts as you wish:
November 12, Gore Education Center
November 18, Collier County Parks
Choose 1 Park: Sugden, North Collier Regional, Conner Park
December 1, Villagewalk of Bonita Springs

On this form you will also be able to sign up for FREE Training Sessions.

Nearly 35 species of butterflies have been observed during previous counts. Collier County has about 80 documented butterflies, so we still have a ways to go.

Ages 16 and up are invited to participate. Registration is required.

Your participation will help expand our understanding of the abundance and diversity of butterflies in our beloved natural areas!
