June 24, 2023 Butterfly Count & Identification Training

Join in our celebration of pollinators by volunteering for a butterfly count at either Conner Park, North Collier Regional Park, or Sugden Regional Park on Saturday, June 24th, 9:30 am.

These citizen science surveys are a fun way to get to know the Parks and the butterflies!

Nearly 30 species of butterflies have been observed during previous counts. Both numbers of individuals and different species will be recorded.

Volunteers age 16 and up are invited to participate. Individuals with previous experience participating in one of these butterfly counts will serve as group leads.

Newcomers are encouraged to assist as data recorders or butterfly spotters (no previous experience is required; training will be provided.).

Your participation will help expand our understanding of the abundance and diversity of butterflies in our beloved Parks!
