Also Kakamega Forest is protected as Nature Reserve. In Zambia it occurs directly at the source of the Zambezi river (or Sakeji river according to some private sources) which is protected as a National Reserve.
Because of the large distribution area it should be least concern. Anyway, there are threats because of habitat loss, fragmentation etc and especially at the Horn it is only known from one locality. So if recognozing it only at the horn it should be endangered.
