Hanging from spider web
Very hard to see--I didn't want to get too close for obvious reasons, though I suppose the snake was otherwise engaged... Appeared to be eating an alligator lizard, judging from the checkered pattern that you can see if you look closely at a few of the photos. But it's a bit hard to tell.
(duplicate of an observation for the rattlesnake)
The lizard fought hard not to be eaten
Two sucking blood from the same fringe-toed lizard.
Had just been killed by an outdoor cat unfortunately
Rescued from a cat, hence the missing part of the tail
The cats were all focused on the same thing, so I knew something was up. Found them all trying to catch this big lizard that was in our living room under a cabinet. I managed to get it to go into this wine gift bag so I could get it out of the house. Once outside, it started to come out of the bag but then decided to go back in. When it finally came out, it then hid under one of my tires.
This egret stalked, caught, and ate two lizards in about 15 minutes.
Lizard taken by scrub jay
This lizard stakes out my porch light, either hiding in shrubs or sitting out in the open on a short wall defining our entry way. It remains active late into the night.
(the golden ones) Feeding frenzy on termites emerging from a hole in the ground
Found dead on cement path. Feral cat nearby was watching me examine the desert then proceeded to try to eat it after I walked away.
Mating pair, found basking in a rock pile. Orange County, CA
Really big ring neck! Was calm, showed no signs of high distress before throwing up a large sharp-tailed snake. I put it back under the cover it was flipped under. Very thin, and in need of a meal now. I feel bad, hopefully it finds something to eat…
For the sharp tailed snake. Was thrown up by the ring neck.
Sunny day with little clouds. Nice weather. The lizard was soaking up the sun and my cat was trying to get it. Suburban area at my house on the brick wall.
Was walking and noticed this lizard hanging under the material
Burned in recent fire
Dropped by a crow.
this is for the lizard
Specimen recovered and recorded with Natural History Museum of Los Angeles’s Department of Herpetology . This is the first Brahminy Blindsnake from San Bernardino county added to their collection.
This is pretty horrible but... interesting. A King Snake (the second one we saw) returned to the pond area and somehow grabbed a lizard, and ate it. I was lucky to be there with my camera but felt sorry for the little herp - I like lizards
Strangely, the wild birds were coming VERY close to the snake, even hovering over it as though they were going to strike it and these were small birds of varying types. I don't know if they're curious or threatened but they aren't very smart! That King Snake is fast." - Virginia Tucker

California striped racer and Western fence lizard.
Second day's efforts resulted in 3 adults and 4 neonates captured and sent to Bob Hansen. Nearby business owners shared videos and photos of other exotics, including agamas, beaded lizards, a crocodile monitor, and chameleons . @chrisdellith @gregpauly @jqrichmond
Cool lizard, never seen this one before
Feeding on a lizard at sunset in Johnson's Pasture.
This observagtion is for the lizard.
I saw this snake at rest for a while and then slithering away in the Ballona freshwater marsh.
This is a screen shot from my sons video-as you can see, a part of the tail is missing, thanks to the cat.
This was taken by my son after he got it away from his cat.
Eating a tail of another lizard
Caught and eaten by American crow on rock
Alive but dying (cat got it)
Detached tail was falling down a small slope and a western fence lizard came and grabbed it

Prey source found nearby in form of Slender Salamander. May be small range extension into the valley for this species.
hyper-melanistic ring-necked snake. Possible range extension.
Slender Salamanders Present at this location, prey source. Possible range extension.
Came across this young gopher snake locked in battle with a loggerhead shrike. Moments after I took this photo the shrike returned and carried off the snake.
I came across this unusual scene while hiking back to my car this afternoon. What I think is happening here is that the racer probably tried to predate the alligator lizard, only to have the alligator lizard clamp down on the snake's head. When I came upon them, the snake wasn't moving much. I sat and watched for a bit, but then noticed a mountain biker coming down the trail. When I stood up so he could see me, I must have startled the lizard, because all of a sudden the snake got free, and zipped off into the tall grass on the side of the trail. After a second or two, the alligator lizard also dashed off, albeit in the other direction. I felt a little badly about disturbing the situation, but really there was a good chance one or both animals would have been run over by the biker, who was demonstrating his species' usual level of spatial awareness. (ie none whatsoever. I'm still not sure he ever saw me.) All in all, it was quite a surprising encounter.
(@gregpauly, I thought you might be interested in this one, since it shows the jaw strength of a Northern Alligator lizard from a different angle than the one we know from mating lizards.)
Found and released
So. Alligator Lizard just caught by Common Raven at edge of Hwy 1 at "Sea-lion overlook," a famed spot to view California Condor [several present at this moment]
Salt & Pepper, at sidewalk level again. He may have been hiding near the sweet alyssum or bird of paradise and came out when I was watering.
I believe this yellowlegs is eating an African-clawed frog.

Please confirm or refute: is this another Sonoran Spotted Whiptail
Love the tail bite to avoid predation. Mt. D is heaven!
First observed alive but struggling before being eaten by the striped racer. Snake is included in a separate observation
