Would really appreciate a more precise identification. A lot of discussion about this little guy on the trail.
On road, moved to safe area with snake grabber. It could not make it over the curb after investing a cottontail.

Introduced population. Scared off deep into the brush by a bike rider zooming past before I could get better pics.

Mating.
2nd snake in three weeks that I was called to free from netting. It has a few cuts from the netting, but will be ok.
