Shores of the creek between Keller Lake and Lake Phalen were planted with native plants a few years ago. I walked along the path and counted bees in each bumblebee+flower combination I saw plus took pictures of any interesting bumblebees. Lots of Bee Balm still blooming with a lot of Common Eastern Bumblebees, with a variety of other flowers and bumblebees.
Bombus vagans (male) feeding on Monarda fistulosa (bee balm).
Surveyed the restored/native planted and burned sanctuary by taking pictures of each bumblebee + flower combination and counting how many bees I saw at those flowers. Scattered patches of Bee Balm and Vervain almost done blooming, and lots of tall Joe Pye Weed at the edges of the ponds. Also non-native flowers at the edges and big patches of Crown Vetch done blooming.
