Diario del proyecto 2022 City Nature Challenge: Fairfield and Westchester County

Good morning and happy first day of the City Nature Challenge! I hope you are all excited to get outside, make observations, and enjoy the beautiful springtime weather! A few reminders as we kick off the event:

• Keep it wild! The goal of this is document what is occurring naturally around us. Please try to avoid gardens, pets, and animals under human care. If you do add something that you know is captive or cultivated, please note it!
• Please be sure to add clear photos- this is really helpful with the identification process. Try to keep them in focus, take multiple pictures, and have something in there for scale (ruler, penny, shoe, etc.)
• Don't overlook those little things- the weeds growing from the cracks, the moss on the tree, the bug in the basement- they all count!

• Respect the wildlife
  -Have fun!

I will set a lofty goal for day 1- I think we can make 300 observations by the end of the day!

You are exceeding expectations!! We are only 23 observations are away from our goal so let's up it! I think we can do 450 observations by the end of the day.

Good morning all and welcome to day 2 of the City Nature Challenge! Well, we blew our goal out of the water yesterday so I am going to ambitious today. As I write this we have made our 81 observers have made 559 observations of 217 different species! Let's see if we can get up to 1500 observations today!

I hope you are enjoying the time to get outside and appreciate the wildlife around you as much as I have thus far.
