Diario del proyecto Orchids of Western Montana

Hi All, its been a great year so far for finding a lot of Calypso. I was on Tin Cup Creek Trail and found quit a few along the trail and got some super photo, also some great photo of other plants as well. Made a trip up to the Garnet Mountains on Friday and found so many Capypso I had to watch where I was walking. Got some of the best photo's I've ever got of them. The Lady Splipper are bolting along Elk Creek I checked several sites and all were looking good can't wait to get back up there in about a week or so and check out this super Mountain Lady Slipper area. No Coralroot's yet but it will be soon. I'll keep everyone posted.

Hi All, Its still been great for photography of orchids. I've got some great shots that will be going in an up coming book. I've been hunting West up Tin Cup Creek and NW up Lost Horse Creek. There easy to find both creeks on Google Earth so check them out. My friend the hornseeker has been out hunting the mountains for orchids and other flowers, I know he has orchid pic's and will make enters to the project.
Found a great Early Coralroot on Lost Horse, got good shots. May head up to Swan Lake near Glacier National Park looking for new orchid species to add to the list and get great shots. I'll keep yah posted.

Hi All, still hunt'en still finding. I've had good luck finding some nice specimens like Early Coralroot - Corallorhiza trifida and Broad-leaved Twayblade - Listera convallarioides also some other great species photographed was Roundleaf Sundew -Drosera rotundifolia found a large population in a very specieal place that I plan to study and photograph a lot more.
